Jeans in the Genes

I am constantly obsessed with jeans. At the high point of my obsession I was the proud owner of 11 pairs all of which I wore. Last week I came across a Wrangler advertisement in a magazine I was reading. I am always drawn to jean adverts which is surprising because I am not usually a huge fan of commercial photography. Anyway, seeing the ad in the zine I went onto their website and was blown away. They have all these amazingly clever moving images and fun movie campaigns in which you can click and drag and pull a man off a building or pull off his jean shirt. I am completely in love with it all, a wonderfully new approach to something I already loved! So inspired for my own little jean dedicated photo shoot and will have pics to put up soon but for now I will put up some of the stills from the Wrangler campaigns and leave you the link to the website here! ALL MUST VISIT, especially the We Are Animals campaign which I find really interesting!!!

I bat for Jason!!!

These are some of the wonderful wonderful photos of Bat For Lashes by the inspiring Jason Nocito. They are here because 1- Bat For Lashes makes an aura glow and 2- They are a huge influence over my working mind! These are just a little taster of the amazing work he does. Find all of his work here on his website of goodness!

They just make me want to take and take and take photographs. Jason, I bow at your feet!

After the flood

We are now on the other side of 3 long days of rain, wind and flooding and have been presented with the most glorious glowing day. Wherever you are I hope we share the same sunshineyness!

This is a photograph by me! Obsessed with ribbons that waver and skies filled with clouds.

Operation first post!

Dad had to wear a large, white, cotton eye patch for 3 weeks.
It made everyone stare, my mysterious pirate father.

This was the first time I had seen under the patch.

We asked my Uncle, who is a vet, to come round and use his skills to check that the wound was healing okay. He said that if Dad was a dog he would be pleased with his process.
Compliment? I'm not sure!

Healing hands of a vet.

Last month my Dad had to have an operation to remove a melanoma removed from under his eye. They ended up having take out a large chunk of skin from under his eye and replacing it with some taken from behind his ear. This is my small documentation of the first time I saw just what he had done. I am not a documentary photographer but I think I have capture the rawness of the unveiling ceremony which took place in the kitchen that morning. Last week we got the test results and we are a very lucky family, they removed all the cancer. The killing beast is kept at bay once more. I have managed to make my first post a little gruesome, but I hope you enjoy!
